The Doors were an American rock band formed in 1965. The band consisted of Jim Morrison on lead vocals, Ray Manzarek on keyboard, Robby Krieger on guitar, and John Densmore on drums. The band formed their name from the title of Aldous Huxley’s book “The Doors of Perception.” The band was known for it’s charismatic but unpredictable stage persona, and for Morrison’s unique lyrics. After Morrison’s death in 1971 at age 27, the remaining band members continued as a trio until disbanding in 1973.
